Wincanton, Tuesday 12th December

Today we travel to Wincanton with two runners, Mountain Pass and Jersey Gem.

First up is in the Novice Hurdle at 12.45pm is Mountain Pass who has run two encouraging races so far this season. He’s a very immature horse and still quite weak as he is only four, however he ran with great promise at Newbury last time out, jumping very nicely. A similar effort in this contest could see him get a place which I’d be absolutely delighted with. He gives the impression he’ll be better with some more time under his belt.

Next up in the Mares Novices’ Hurdle at 1.45pm is Jersey Gem who did not run without promise last time out at Market Rasen. She is not unlike Moutian Pass in the sense that she is only four and very immature and Paul’s feedback is that she is still learning to race. She doesn’t look good enough to be winning this but I’m optimistic that she will continue to progress.
