Wincanton, Thursday 1st Feb

Today we head to Wincanton with three runners.

First up is Nordic Tiger in the Conditional and Amateur Jockeys Hurdle at 1.45pm and Alice Stevens rides. He’s been running consistently all season. I’m still not fully decided what’s his best trip but I think it probably is two and a half miles. The more that the ground dries out the better I think for him. He’s got a lot of weight but he’s a consistent horse who seems to jump well so hopefully he’ll run nicely.

Next up is Salvatore in the 2.45pm Novices’ Hurdle, who I’d expect to take a big step forward from Newbury last time out, where he actually ran a really nice race before getting tired. This looks a decent little race but I think he can run really well. He’s been training nicely since that last run and I do think he’s improved plenty.

Third up is Hadley Park in the 3.15pm Novices’ Hurdle who was bitterly disappointing for us in the summer in a couple of Juvenile Hurdles. It’s very much a watching brief today and hopefully he can show a little bit more encouragement than he did when he was last out for us.
