Wincanton, Sunday 16th April

Today we travel to Wincanton to run the frustrating Prince Nino and newcomer The Two Harrys.

Prince Nino runs in the Maiden Hurdle at 3pm. He is more than capable than running a good race in this company and he’s in good form at home. I’m reaching for first time blinkers in hope rather than expectation. Dry ground will suit well and I know he’s capable of competing in a race like this but I just need him to put his best foot forwards which frustratingly in his last two races he hasn’t.

The Two Harry’s goes in the first division of the bumper at 5.20pm. He is a really nice horse. Ed Bailey and I bought him from the Derby Sale last year. I really like him as a horse, I think he’s a good hurdling prospect over two and a half miles for next season. He’s done plenty of work for this race. Flemensfirth’s don’t have a great win record in bumpers in their spring four year old campaigns which would concern me a little but I think he will run well and I think he’s a lovely horse for the future.
