Wetherby, Thursday 6th April

Today we head to Wetherby to run Montys Medoc and Il Va De Soi.

Montys Medoc runs in the Handicap Hurdle at 2pm. He’s been off the track for a very long time but he had a decent level of form with Paul (Nicholls) beforehand. I’d like to thank his owners for being very patient because it’s not been easy getting him right. He’s as fit as I can get him without a run but obviously a horse that’s had leg trouble you can’t gallop them too hard at home. I’m hoping for a good run but I wouldn’t be surprised if he got tired, but as I say he’s as fit as I can get him at home.

Il Va De Soi who runs in the bumper at 5.25pm ran very nicely at Kempton last time out and was just edged out late on. It didn’t look much of a race but I was very pleased with what he did that day. I think this looks like a good opportunity and another race that he can run well in and I’m looking forward to running him before he has a break ahead of going hurdling next season.
