Today we head to Warwick and Southwell with 3 runners.
At Warwick we run Pure Carbon in the Novices’ Hurdle at 1.13pm, who ran nicely in a bumper in the spring. He’s a big immature horse, a horse that I really like. My main objective today is to get him to settle, he’s been a little bit keen at times but his schoolings been nice and hopefully he can show some encouragement for the future today. I see him as a two and a half mile chaser down the line but he’ll be well up to winning some hurdle races hopefully this season.
Over at Southwell, first up is Mystic Man in the Handicap Chase at 3.05pm, who has been running well all season without troubling the judge. Good to firm ground back around his beloved Southwell should be to his liking. The drier the ground the better so it’s obviously a negative they’ve had all the rain over the last few days but he seems to run well around this track so hopefully he can be competitive.
Our final runner of the day at Southwell is Diplomatie in the Handicap Hurdle at 4.40pm. She’s not been with me long having had a successful summer with Alyson Malzard in Jersey. Vic her daughter rides today. It’s difficult to know the level of form over there but hopefully she can run a nice race and give Vic a good spin.
