Punchestown, Thursday 2nd May

Today we once again head to Punchestown with two runners, Mollys Mango and Queensbury Boy.

First up is Mollys Mango in the Mares Novice Hurdle at 7.05pm, who actually ran better than the bare result suggested at Cheltenham last time out off a slow gallop. I think a stronger gallop will suit her today. The rain that has fallen is certainly not a negative. This looks a competitive race but I think she has a sporting each way chance if she runs her best. Whatever happens she’s a very exciting mares novice chaser for next season.

In the last race the Bumper at 7.40pm we run Queensbury Boy who missed his intended target the day after the Gold Cup at Uttoxeter due to a not perfect scope which was disappointing. He’s a really talented horse but this is obviously a very good race so he could finish fourth or fifth and run very well. He’ll be a novice hurdler to follow next season but he does have the ability to run a nice race in this.
