Newton Abbot, Friday 14th June

Today we travel to Newton Abbot to run Grivetana in the Mares’ Handicap Hurdle at 6.45pm.

Firstly, any rain would be a negative to her. She’s wants the ground probably on the quick side of good to be at her best in both mine and Paul’s opinion.

She won nicely at Southwell last time out. She got tired from the second last home which was anticipated given the length of time she had off but she travelled nicely through the race, jumped well and stuck it out well.

I think that she’s improved fitness wise since that run, I’ve been very pleased with her since Southwell. If it was any other track, two and a quarter miles would be a bit of a concern but the tight nature of Newton Abbot I think will help her in that respect. I think that this is a competitive little race but I’m confident that she can run a good race and be there or there about, provided it doesn’t rain too much.
