Today we head to Newton Abbot to run Ar El Bee in the Novices’ Hurdle at 2.32pm. Ar El Bee is one of the horses who’s moved from Oliver’s to me recently, we’ve had him just over a month so I’m still very much getting to know him. On all known form this race looks a little warm for him but having been quite keen in his last two races the only way that he’s going to get used to racing in National Hunt races is by more experience. He’s been schooling nicely so if he can just learn to settle a bit and harness his enthusiasm hopefully he’ll be able to run ok. It’s obviously going to be a tough task with James Owen and Fergal O’Brein’s horses but I’m just looking for an encouraging performance from him today.
Rosalind Banks is a new owner to me this season, she is an absolutely lovely lady who I’m thrilled to be training for and I wish her all the best today.
