Newcastle and Uttoxeter, Saturday 16th March

Today we head to both Newcastle and Uttoxeter with 4 runners across the meetings.

Up at Newcastle we run Brentford Hope in the Handicap Hurdle at 2.37pm, who looks to have a leading chance in a race that looks like on paper, a step down in class. Obviously the JP horse looks unexposed  and could be difficult to beat giving him a stone but I’d like to think will run a really good race. The ground will suit him, he’s been in very good from this season, he’s been a very consistent horse and hopefully he can run well.

At Uttoxeter first up is Casual Observer in the Novices’ Hurdle at 1.15pm, who is a really lovely horse. He’s still quite weak and immature but he’s run two really nice races and I’d like to think he can run well again.

Monviel goes next in the 1.50pm Handicap Hurdle. He wears first time cheekpieces today and I think he’s got a leading chance in this. I’ve been really pleased with him since Ascot. He seems in great condition and I like to think with a step down in class he can run very competitively.

Finally at Uttoxeter is Bolsover Bill in the Handicap Chase at 4.10pm, who’s been in great form since he joined me. He’ll absolutely relish the ground, I think the left handed track will suit and I’m confident he’ll give another bold show.
