Today we head to both Newbury and Doncaster with three runners.
First up at Newbury is Matwana in the Fillies’ Juvenile Hurdle at 1.20pm. She ran really well on debut over hurdles at Hereford, she was just a bit green at the last, giving away and length and a half and got beat that far. She’s schooled well since. The key to her chance is if she settles, if she does she’ll give herself a chance of running a really nice race in what looks a competitive fillies juvenile.
Our second runner at Newbury is Sir Psycho in the Handicap Chase at 2.30pm. He’s not the easiest horse to predict but he was good fresh first time out last year. He’s very very fit, he’s done loads of work at home and schooled nicely in the week. If he gets into a good rhythm then he’s more than capable of running a really good race in what looks a competitive field.
At Doncaster we run Kansas City Star in the Handicap Chase at 2.05pm. I think he’s back to his most suitable trip today, two and a half miles. The ground will definitely suit him. I think Doncaster’s a nice track for him, I’d like to think he can get in a good jumping rhythm. If he runs his best race then he has a chance in this. He’s fairly handicapped and Alice takes off a handy five pounds. He’s not the easiest horse to predict but I can see him running well.
