Today we head to Exeter and Musselburgh with three runners.
At Exeter we run Bolsover Bill in the Handicap Chase at 3.20pm, owned by Vic Malzard’s family and some friends and I wish them all the best. He’s obviously new to us this season, he’s done a lot of work and I think he’ll run really well but it wouldn’t surprise me if he needed it a fraction. This is a good starting point though, he’s in good form and hopefully Vic will have a good ride on him.
At Musselburgh we run Fidelio Vallis And Republican.
Fidelio Vallis runs in the Handicap Chase at 2.20pm who is absolutely in the grip of the handicapper, hence Alice takes off 5lb. He’s run well twice round here over two miles, a step up to two mile four is definitely a plus but he has a lot of weight and continues to not look obviously well handicapped. No doubt he’ll give his best as he’s a very genuine horse.
Republican goes in the 3.30pm Handicap Hurdle. This is his first run for me. I’ve been mulling over what trip is best for him but three miles on an easy track should be fine and if he gets back to some of his best form then he’d have a big chance. Hopefully he’ll run well.
