Market Rasen

Today we head to Market Rasen with four runners.
At Market Rasen the first horse we run is Givemefive in the 12.30 Juvenile Hurdle, who my cousin Megan bought for me privately from Johnny Murtagh. He’s a lovely juvenile, he’s got a great attitude and he loves his jumping. Obviously the ground for juveniles isn’t ideal but I’ve had this race in mind for some time and I’m looking forward to starting him off. It looks a good little race but I’m sure that he’ll run well.
Next is A Dublin Job in the 1.40pm Handicap Hurdle, who is new to me from Ireland. He doesn’t have the most inspiring form and I’d be very worried that an 11lb rise from the English Handicapper is going to make life extremely difficult for him.
Hard Frost is next in the 2.50pm Handicap Chase. He always needs his first run so whilst he’s in good form, I’d imagine it will be the same case today. He does like Market Rasen having run well there before but as I say I would think that like last season he will need this first run.
Finally at Market Rasen in the Bumper at 3.25pm is Casual Observer who finished second in an Irish Point to Point. He’s a fine looking horse but he is quite immature. He will very much be a horse for next year. I think this season is all about learning his trade and developing but hopefully he can run a nice race and show some promise for the future.
