Huntingdon and Warwick, Thursday 25th April

Today we travel to Huntingdon and Warwick with 3 runners.

First up at Huntingdon is Ascending Lark in the Mares Novices’ Hurdle at 4pm. I’m hoping that the ground is safe for her, she would have preferred a slower surface. She probably has a tough task to give away a penalty to Hendersons horse but she’s in good form and she won impressively at Haydock last time out. I think going right handed will suit her much better and hopefully she can run well.

Our next runner at Huntingdon is Balhambar in the Handicap Hurdle at 7pm, who I’m following up quickly from his win at Bangor on Saturday but he’s due to go up 8lb. He’s obviously got a 7lb penalty here and it’s taking a risk running a horse again so quickly, but he’s come out of Bangor very well and he’s going to go out in the field after this run so we’re going to roll the dice and have a go. If he’s in the same form as he was in at Bangor then I think he will win again.

Over at Warwick we run The Two Harrys in the first division of the bumper at 4.55pm. He’s a lovely lovely horse, I think he’s a very nice prospect. He ran well in a bumper last spring. He’s taken a bit of time to get right this season but he’s a horse I really like and I think he can run well here before going novice hurdling in the autumn.
