Hexham and Kempton, Monday 22nd April

Today we head to both Hexham and Kempton Park.

First up is Hexham, where we run Joker De Mai in the Novices Hurdle at 2pm. He’s been really consistent this season, finishing 2nd on the last 3 occasions running well on all of them. It’s a step down in trip and class today and he looks the one to beat. Hopefully he’ll give David a really good ride.

At Kempton, first up is Salvatore in the 5.25pm Novices’ Handicap Hurdle. He has been bitterly disappointing so far this season, I expected a lot more from him. He likes his jumping but he’s not been seeing out his races. We’re hoping a flat track and genuine good ground will bring out some improvement but it will absolutely need too.

Finally Mojo Ego runs in the Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle at 7pm, who’s done really well for us this season. The form of his last race is working out nicely and he gets an allowance for being a four year old in this field. I still think it’s a competive race but I think good ground and flat track will suit really well and hopefully he can run a nice race.
