Today we head to Hereford with two runners.
First up in the Novices’ Hurdle at 1.25pm is Mossy Fen Road, who is an extremely nice horse who was bought out of the point to point field in the spring. We were thinking about going down the bumper route but he’s a good jumper and we felt that wouldn’t be playing to his strengths, so hence we’re running in a hurdle race. I’ve been very pleased with him, he’s not fully wound up for this race by any means, it’s just a starting point but I like him and I’d like to think he’ll run very well.
Next is Any Biscuits in the Handicap Hurdle 2.35pm, who after a long lay off ran extremely well at Stratford last month, just getting tired and then he stayed on again really nicely. With natural improvement I’d like to think he’ll run another very good race. He’s up two pound for that second which doesn’t make life easy but he seems in good form at home, hopefully he’s had enough time after his last run. Having had such a long time off you always worry about their second run but he’s in great nick at home and I’d like to think he can be really competitive in this field.
