Doncaster, Sunday 29th December

Today we head to Doncaster with three runners.

First up is Matwana in the Fillies’ Juvenile Hurdle at 11.52am. She has run two solid races over hurdles, most notably in a listed race at Newbury last time out when she stayed on well. This is a drop down in class today. I think David Pipe’s horse will be extremely tough to beat after such a good debut but Matwana comes here in good form.

Next up is Jus De Citron in the Novices’ Hurdle at 1.02pm, who’s an absolutely beautiful horse. He’s been a very hard horse to get fit but he looks fantastic now. I think Doncaster will suit him well. He’s sure to improve for the run but he’s a great jumper and I think he has a nice each way chance.

Our final runner of the day is Pyffo in the Handicap Hurdle at 2.47pm. He ran a decent race on yard debut for me last time out, where it was clear a step up in trip was required. This looks an open race and I think if he puts his best foot forward then he’s handicapped to run a decent race without being obviously well treated.
