Doncaster, 22nd February

Today we travel to Doncaster to run shared in the Novice Hurdle at 3.35pm.

Shared has been busy the last few weeks and is having his third run of his career for me today in an effort to have had three runs to qualify for the Fred Winter at Cheltenham.

He will obviously need to run well today in order to get a rating that will get him in but he has already run really nicely twice so I am hopeful once again.

Fifth at Musselburgh last time out he was not beaten far at all and stayed on great in the home straight after not handling the track what so ever and I am optimistic this more galloping test will suit him well.

Being just a four year old he gets some helpful weight off some of his more dangerous looking rivals and I am hoping he can run a good race on ground he should be able to handle.

It is obviously always a risk running a horse quickly three times but in this situation one’s hand is forced slightly. He is a tough horse however and I hope he can cope with it.
