Today we head to Leicester, Carlisle and Fairyhouse with a runner at each meeting.
First up at Carlisle is Come On Teddy in the Handicap Chase at 1.55pm, who is a new horse to me. Harry Cobden is on board. Hopefully he can get in a good jumping rhythm, he has done lots of schooling. On his old form he’s potentially well handicapped but obviously he needs to come back to that, it’s been a long time since he’s won but he seems in good nick.
At Leicester we run Sonification in the Novices’ Hurdle at 2.15pm. He ran a nice race on stable debut at Uttoxeter after a really long lay off. He took a long time to get over that run which once they’ve had such a long time off can happen. My concern is always a second run after a lay off, I’ve tried to give him lots of time to negate that and hoepfully he can run a nice race. Alice Stevens rides.
Over at Fairyhouse we run Washington in the Listed Handicap Hurdle at 3.10pm with Paul on board. We’re taking a bit of a punt in running him in a big race like this but it’s very valuable. Obviously unsurprisingly it’s very competitive but if he runs his best rest then he has a really good chance.
