Kempton, Monday 13th November

Today we head to Kempton Park with 3 runners, Queens Gamble, Thunder N Lightnin and Dargiannini. Best of luck to all of their connections.
First up at 12.45pm is Queens Gamble, who runs in the Novice Hurdle. Her task is made slightly harder by winning in May over hurdles so it was either come here with level weights against the boys or run in mares novice hurdle with a penalty. The ground at Kempton being dry will suit well. Her schooling has been good and whilst she’s not fully wound up she’s well fit enough to run a really nice race.
Next up in the Novices’ Hurdle at 1.50pm is Thunder N Lightnin, who has had an awful long time off the track. He was nearly ready to run last season before throwing a splint, so we left him alone. He’s very much a staying chasing prospect for next season but hopefully he can show some promise here.
Finally in the Handicap Hurdle at 3pm is Dargiannini, who was a star for me last season. Obviously he wasn’t quite good enough towards the back end of the season at Aintree and probably didn’t stay at Haydock, but he looks in great shape at home. Kempton over two miles five furlongs I think will suit well and I’m very confident of a bold show.
